We specialise in taking small groups of students on challenging walking trips in the Alps.

Our trips start in Chamonix, France. A Mecca for skiers and mountaineers, the Chamonix Valley lies at the foot of the Mont Blanc Massif and provides a stunning backdrop and base for our programmes.

Thin Air Adventures Limited offers a series of week-long walking trips for schools groups (12-18 years) to explore some of the most beautiful and isolated areas of the Alps.

These trips provide students with an excellent introduction to the mountain environment, mountaineering and teamwork.

Activities vary from trip to trip and are dependent on weather conditions and the group's abilities. In general, trips include some or all of the following activities:

• rock climbing
• ice climbing
• glacier travel
• via ferrata
• overnight stays in mountain huts

All groups are led by experienced and fully qualified UIAGM mountain guides and members of teaching staff from the school.

The UIAGM (Union Internationale des Associations des Guides de Montagne) is the body representing professional mountain guiding associations across the world and guarantees the highest professional standards and safety in the mountains.

You can find out more about the UIAGM standards governing guides' training and assessment procedures from its website.
